My pear
I was playing with a different brush and it seemed to suit the only piece of fruit in the house. Fun to paint, surely anyone who ever painted has done a pear! Sent from my iPad Posted via email from rob mance’s sketchblog | Comment »

Time to do some sketches...
Still on the Handycam, just wanted to break out from those tighter sketches… oh well. Now I all I need is a new subject to paint, I know, it’s time, it’s time. Posted via email from rob mance’s sketchblog | Comment »
Handycam series and movie...
I love painting this. Every angle reveals another interesting detail and a well-resolved product design. I’m taking a new approach on this series, and I’m trying out my new POGO STYLUS. It does allow for accuracy in some scenarios, it’s much better than the other anon stylus I had before. It reads your pressure pretty well and it’s easier to draw large arcs with less...
Today's Sony Handycam drawing... if you can stand...
I’m sorry to disappoint you, really I am, but I warned you, I’m obsessed with painting the camera, here’s the other side! I’ll move on but I need to get it out of my system first, it’s how I roll. (3522 KB) Watch on posterous Posted via email from rob mance’s sketchblog | Comment »
Sony Handycam drawing...
Just in case it’s not coming across loud and clear, all of the drawings on this blog are fingerpainted on my iPhone. That’s all for now, but this video-camera has a lot of nice features so I might try to knock out another elevation or a 3d version and if I write it down it might actually happen soon…

Christmas biscuits before I eat them all up......
Courtesy of McVities ‘Luxury Continental Biscuit Selection’, no less. Not much drawing been happening here for a while, but this is the first time I’ve used the new update of Brushes which includes lots of very smart features including 7 new brush styles (10 total) and the option to space them. It helps to add a bit of texture, that’s all I’m saying. While I am on...

'Rabbit' shoe, made by the 'The Art Shoes Company'
They make these somewhere in Spain I think. There is no other reason for painting them, other than I think they are beautiful. Often, that’s enough but I’ve been shuffling around with a bad back for 3 days now so this is how I occupied myself in the evenings, in between episodes of Fringe and Modern Family, which incidentally, is brilliant.

Pens! Only this time, there's a drawing :)
Sorry about that, now my hilarious comment has lost it’s edge, nevermind, here are some pens I painted last night. Posted via email from rob mance’s sketchblog | Comment »
just apple...
Oranges are not the only fruit, there’s apples too you know. I like apples, but Imi ate this one shortly after it was drawn becuase he loves them more than anyone else I know. I know, it’s hardly breaking news is it. Posted via email from rob mance’s sketchblog | Comment »

Orsi is watching 'The Closer'.
Orsi’s favourite TV show, THE CLOSER and a rare opportunity to catch her sitting still. “They’ll bring you in, she’ll make you talk”. Sounds familiar. Good tagline and a good show, beats ‘Midsummer Murders’ anyday but not quite up to the critical standards of the classic ‘Miss Marple’, not round our way. And to think, I used to tease my little...
Bob Dylan: Oh Mercy
I wore this tape out while working (not that hard) at art college. I borrowed it from my housemate in 1993 and recently found it again! Fun to draw as well… if you like that kind of thing, which I do. Obviously. Painted in BRUSHES on my iPhone. Posted via email from rob mance’s sketchblog | Comment »
not just another trainer, an Adidas Gazelle
I had to draw this one. I bought these shortly after my first son was born, there was definitely a desire to re-capture youth or be a cool Dad or something like that going on. Anyway, they’re a classic. Painted in BRUSHES on my iPhone. Posted via email from rob mance’s sketchblog | Comment »
"I wear my soul on my boots"
I like to draw shoes because they say something about people. So far, I’ve only been drawing my own (it’s weird asking to borrow shoes, I tried it and now I’m sure it’s weird) so what does this one say about me? Probably something along the lines of clinging to youth, mid-life crisis type scenarios. Also, pretensions towards a laid-back and chilled out outlook on life....
it's hurting my eyes...
There are lots of things an iPhone is good at, walking you into a tree when texting or alienating you from family because the addiction has gone too far… nevermind that, what really hurts is taking on a drawing like this. You can zoom in up to 800% but despite that the screen is only a few inches wide/tall, which is fine most of the time, but this watch possesses the kind of...
a labour of love...
This took a lot longer than I thought it would, lots and lots of re-draw action. I did it purely from observation because LEGO is cool.
I don't watch telly, or play PS3 anymore...
“Now that you’ve found brushes you won’t have time to play games!” These are the prophetic words of Susan Murtaugh, probably the most accomplished and prolific, iPhone BRUSHES finger-painter I’ve encountered on Flickr. Have a look HERE if you don’t believe me, just don’t stay too long, I hope to see you again. She’s good though, really good...
only in Waitrose...
Who doesn’t have time to slice their own lemons when it’s time for a G&T? Who, I mean who? I picked this up because it was as close to a bit of Harvey Nicks packaging as I could get on the day, but then it dawned on me, do we really need this? Supermarkets are stuffed with this sort of thing, I even used to make a living from conceiving this sort of thing so I can’t get too...
lager, lager, lager...
I just can’t help myself, if I see a nice pack or I can’t find anything else to draw I usually revert to a nice pack. I used to think a can of Red Stripe was the last thing you’d drink when everything else (lager-wise) ran out, but it seems nowadays it’s very well thought of and I enjoyed this one thoroughly once I realised I was supposed to really like it. Nice pack...
in need of refreshment?
You can’t beat a refreshing G&T after just about anything. These little beauties save the bother of even having to worry about the mixing ratios, which is good when you’re in a hurry. Whatever next, pre-sliced lemons?

I like drawing packaging ok!
I bought this deodorant ages ago, I’m not mad about the smell, I’d sooner use a roll-on than poison my family with locker-room fragrance, not to mention the planet. But I knew one day I’d draw it and I enjoyed doing the type, I used to do pack-design, I get cold shivers when I think about it, but it’s nice to meditate over something like this for a while.
it begins...
This is the first finger-painting I did of an object using the BRUSHES application. If you have an iPhone and like drawing/painting it’s the best three quid you’ll ever spend.
